5 easy steps to create a Google Ads account

Step 1

Choose an email address

Visit the Google Ads website and select the blue “Start Now” button. You’ll be asked to enter your email address. 

If you already have an email address associated with a Google account (name@gmail.com), enter it in the text box. After you’ve entered your Gmail address, select the blue “Next” button and enter your password.


If you do not have an existing Google account email (Gmail address), select the “Create Account” link, choose the “For myself” option, and then follow the instructions to create and confirm your new Google account.

Step 2

Switch to expert mode

Once you complete step 1, you will be asked your advertising goal. Ignore these options and select the “Switch to Expert Mode” link located at the bottom of the screen.

Step 3

Skip campaign creation

Now you’ll be asked the goal of the campaign you want to create. Ignore these options and select the link that says “Create an account without a campaign” located at the bottom of the screen.

Step 4

Confirm your regional settings

Confirm your business information is accurate by selecting your country, time zone, and currency. When finished, select submit.

Step 5

Setup your billing

We recommend choosing post-pay & using a credit or debit card as your payment method rather than direct debit. Direct debit can take several days to get approved, during which your ads can’t run.
